Real Time Events based on Location

Pinckney Mansion Site: Readings from the EMF function of the Mel Meter: 3.7mG (milligauss), 6.0mG, 8.0mG, 41mG, and a whopping 122mG! (This is a giant reading for this location!) Terms/phrases heard from the spirit boxes: “problem”. There were also several “green” readings and one “blue” reading from the REM pod function of the Mel Meter indicating motion near the user.

Lodge Alley: The name “John” was heard on a spirit box. The names I normally get on the Stone Tape Theory Loop are “Benjamin” and “John”, two gentleman who lived in Lodge Alley in 1801. See pages 12-13 of this archaeological document to see the full list of names.

Philadelphia Alley: The phrase “two hundred to three hundred” was heard on a spirit box. The first night I visited the Powder Magazine was November 28, 2020, the exact 300 year anniversary of Anne Bonny’s piracy trial in front of Chief Justice Nicholas Lawes.

St. Phillip’s Church and Cemetery: Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “change”, “ninety-five”, and “three hundred” (see the Philadelphia Alley occurrences).

Powder Magazine: No spikes on the EMF function of the Mel Meter, or on the REM pod function. Nicole was having a little bit of trouble at the end of the history lesson of this space with her heart pounding heavily. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “black” (possibly a Blackbeard reference, for reference, I listened for the words “Edward” and “Teach” while spot checking the SBox [Blackbeard’s true name was Edward Teach or Thatch]), “what are you”, “crime” (a pirate claim if I ever saw one), “door number three”, “common flight”, “fifty-nine years old” (Still close to Philadelphia Alley where the doctor stayed at 59 Church Street, aka, the Thomas Rose house), “Steve”, “Jack” (obvious term of Calico Jack), “pretty” , and the number “forty”.

• 20:14 “four miles” The number “four” was also heard in real time on the SB11-ANC spirit box. This indicates the number of children by Charles and Eliza.
• 27:20 “three five eight” Charles Pinckney (Eliza’s husband) died in 1758, after only 14 years of marriage.

• 47:10 “knees” Thomas Pinckney was shot in the leg (near his kneecap), captured by the British during the Battle of Camden.

• 1:15:17 “asking and praying” It’s not uncommon to receive terms/phrases around religion as we near St. Phillip’s Church.

Marker 31:40-31:51 of the thermal imaging video. Pinckney Mansion Site. In the background, you can see a person (clearly living with the red/orange heat index) moving from right to left. Just as he/she is about to pass the doorway, a cold area appears and seems to take a similar shape of the person walking (just to the right of the doorway). This is a little too far away to determine a genuine piece of evidence, but thought this marker would display what I look for when I’m spot checking thermal imaging videos.

Real Time Events based on Location

Big Red Barn: Spikes of 2.7mG (milligauss) and 12.3mG were discovered on the EMF function of the Mel Meter. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “shake it off”, “blood” (what color is the Big Red Barn)

Pinckney Mansion Site: EMF spikes ranged from 14-57mG, along with smaller readings of 3.5mG. Several “blue” readings on the REM pod function of the Mel Meter indicating motion. Terms heard on various spirit boxes: “one” (when this is heard, normally a secondary clue to our first president will verify Washington acting as a pallbearer at Eliza’s funeral), “eight three three five nine”, “young”, “four” (again, indicating the number of children by Eliza and Charles), “nine year old boy”, “biological”.

Philadelphia Alley: Terms heard on spirit boxes: “biological” (just odd that this was heard twice in one night from two different users), “a hundred”, “Colleen”.

St. Phillip’s Church and Cemetery: Terms heard on spirit boxes: “this is not working”, “die”, “it happened in November” (we were previously discussing the dates of Anne Bonny’s trial on November 28, 1720), “seventeen” (twenty heard later, which gives us the exact year of Bonny’s trial: 1720)

Powder Magazine: Terms heard on spirit boxes: “three” (heard twice), “viking”, “2020” (see “seventeen in St. Phillip’s above), “have it”, “Jesus Christ” (more religious terms around St. Phillip’s), “right” or “write”, “Hazel”, and a yes/no question of “Are you friendly?” was asked, and a direct response of “yes” heard on the SB11-ANC spirit box.

Later, the church suffered from a fire in February of 1835. This article tells of a Lodge Alley resident who suffered from the fire of 1796 (see, I told you we had dozens of fires), named Alexander Alexander. See pages 12-13 of this archaeological document that shows the full list of residents of Lodge Alley.
• 1:14:52 “kingdom” The name of Calico Jack’s ship was The Kingston.
• 1:21:36 “we’ve seen it all”
• 1:28:31 “July 23” See explanation in “fire” above. This is also noteworthy due to the “July” portion of the conveyed message. Since “seven” was heard in real time, and the clue to the fire of St. Phillip’s listed above, it is undiscernible as to which story this could belong to. Normally, I’ll take where the most clues are coming from and attach it to that explanation. With sets of clues from St. Phillip’s and the dueling tale of Dr. Joseph Brown Ladd, this cannot be labeled as anything else other than an undeterminable piece of evidence..

Real Time Events based on Location

Big Red Barn: A spike of 4.5mG (milligauss) was discovered on the EMF function of the Mel Meter. Spikes of 15-20mG were found on the K-II EMF Meter. The term “blues” was heard on a spirit box possibly relating to the indigo of Eliza Lucas Pinckney as we were about to enter the site.

Pinckney Mansion Site: Consistent spikes of 20-25mG found on the K-II Meter (25mG is this device’s max reading). A 5.5mG reading on the EMF function of the Mel Meter along with REM pod (motion) readings of “green” to “red” were discovered consistently throughout the site. “Red” readings are normally not found at this location. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “one” (a stretch, but could be related to our first president, Washington, who served as a pallbearer at Eliza Lucas’s funeral), “hello”, “don’t”, “surgery”, and the term “question” was heard on the new SB11-ANC spirit box.

Lodge Alley: The term “fountain” was heard on a spirit box. See “fire” in the SBox findings above for the link to the list of residents that lived here.

Philadelphia Alley: Terms heard on spirit boxes: “a ton of men”, “witnesses” (Philadelphia Alley used to be called Dueler’s Alley where many would show up to watch a duel), “seven” (Dr. Joseph Brown Ladd’s birthday is July 7 [7/7]), a “whistle” was heard, “Republican” (see Jackson above in the digital spirit box word list).

Powder Magazine: Terms heard on spirit boxes: “give me your money” (terms around money are often captured when talking about plundering pirates), “liars” (I was hoping for another clue to this pirate game of liar’s dice), “230 million” (this one is interesting. Not only does it contain a monetary unit, but I also look at numbers as dates. February 3 is the death date of Henry Laurens Pinckney [Eliza’s great nephew], who founded a newspaper called The Mercury. He is buried on the other side of the Powder Magazine and this is not the first time I’ve received clues in relation to Henry.), “Mary” (We are dealing with two different Marys here: Mary Read, Anne Bonny’s friend/lover, and Mary Brennan, Anne Bonny’s mother), “empty”, and “Jason”.

At marker 24:20 there is a cold spot behind me reading 44.6° versus an ambient 76°. This is a 31.4° difference and should be noted since at marker 25:21, the same area is reading a normal ambient temperature. See photos below.

Real-Time Events based on Location

Pinckney Mansion Site: Readings on the EMF function of the Mel Meter reached the following: 2.8mG (milligauss), 7mG, 15mG, 16.9mG and 19.2mG. Terms heard on the SBox: “twelve” (relating to either Eliza’s birthday of December 28, 1722 or the Great Fire of 1861 which took place on December 11), “Eli”. The number “four” was heard on the new SB11-ANC spirit box indicating the number of children by Eliza and Charles.

Lodge Alley: A spike of 3.2mG was discovered on the EMF function of the Mel Meter and the name “Isaac” was heard on the SBox while passing Cumberland Street walking down East Bay Street to Lodge Alley.

Philadelphia Alley: The name “Daniel” was heard in real-time (noteworthy due to ghost hunter’s name on this investigation), and the term “smuggler” was heard just as we were discussing that we would be exploring piracy in Charleston next.

Unexplainable coincidences: Daniel expressed that the age gap between him and his wife is the same as the ages of Eliza and Charles at their marriage: ages 22 and 45. Bonne explained that her husband’s name is James, the same name as Anne Bonny’s first husband: James Bonny.

Terms heard on various spirit boxes: “enslaved”, “death”, “England” (see embassy above), “seventy-nine”, “twenty years”, “sin”, “love”, “May 25” (noteworthy that Eliza Lucas’s death was May 26, 1793).

Pinckney Mansion Site: The K-II Meter was maxed at 20-25mG throughout the site. The EMF function of the Mel Meter gave us the following spikes: 5mG, 7.3mG, 25mG, 70mG, and a giant 141mG (one of the highest readings recorded at this location). The REM pod function of the Mel Meter gave us a “blue” reading indicating motion.  Terms heard on various spirit boxes: “property”, “eight”, “classical”, “empath”, “willed apart”, “family” (this one is really common at this location), “service” (heard twice on two different spirit boxes), “four” (indicating the number of children by Eliza and Charles).

St. Phillip’s Church and Cemetery: On our way to St. Phillip’s, the numbers “7”, “700”, and “13” were heard. When seven is heard twice (which it often is around this location), it’s relatable to Dr. Joseph Brown Ladd (from our dueling story at Philadelphia Alley); his birthday is July 7 (7/7). The term “chapel” was also heard here and it’s not uncommon to have religious terms around this location.

Powder Magazine: On the new SB11-ANC spirit box, the names “William and Mary” were heard. These are the names of Anne Bonny’s parents; William Cormac and Mary Brennan. Other terms heard: “powerful tools”, “seven”, “help”, “forty-five”, “empty shell”, “eighty-four” (this is the alleged age of Anne Bonny at death), “heaven”, “God”, “family”, “stomach pain” (could be relatable to two different stories: Sue Howard Hardy and her stillborn child, or the fact that Anne Bonny stabbed one of her servants in the belly when she was just a child), “EMF”, “fifty dollars”, “million dollars”. Yellow readings were discovered on the REM pod function of the Mel Meter indicating motion near the user.

Real Time Notes Based on Location

Big Red Barn: Spikes of 15-20mG (milligauss) discovered on the K-II EMF Meter. A reading of 2.5mG discovered on the EMF function of the Mel Meter.

Pinckney Mansion Site: The K-II EMF Meter showed a steady 20-25mG throughout entire site. The EMF function of Mel Meter gave spikes of 17.4mG, 22mG, and 22.4mG. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “healing doesn’t happen”, “fourteen forty” (Eliza and Charles were married for 14 years), “partner in the American” (Charles Pinckney and Charles Cotesworth Pinckney were signers of the Constitution), “alone at the end” (Eliza did remain a widow from 1758-1793).

Lodge Alley: The names “Joe”, “Ed”, and “Anna” were heard on spirit boxes. These names are inconclusive as actual evidence based on regular findings in this location. See full list of resident of Lodge Alley on pages 12-13 of this archaeological document.

Philadelphia Alley: Two ghost hunters reported hearing religious terms near this space. This is common as we get to St. Phillip’s Church and Cemetery. Terms heard on spirit boxes: “playing a game”, “three two two two three”, “challenge” (we were discussing duels at this time).

St. Phillip’s Church and Cemetery: As we were leaving Philadelphia Alley, the phrase “where they go to” was heard on a spirit box.

Powder Magazine: The phrase “yes I said pay” was heard on a spirit box. No EMF spikes were detected on either the K-II Meter or the Mel Meter.

Pinckney Mansion Site: Consistent spikes on the K-II meter of 15-25mG throughout the location. Spikes found on the EMF function of the Mel Meter: 8mG, 15mG, 17mG, 23mG, and a record breaking 188mG! Nice job, Fiona! Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “fire” and “fire-breathing dragon” (The Pinckney Mansion burned in the Great Fire of 1861), “fight”, “glad”, and “concerned” (see “scared” in the digital spirit box word list findings).

Powder Magazine: First, cold chills were felt by two members of the team while standing near the Powder Magazine, this should not be discounted even though no evidence of colder areas or anomalies were found with either the ambient thermometer or or thermal imaging camera, since this is a first hand experience. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “angel”, “trapped”, and “David” loud and clear on the new SB11-ANC spirit box. This is the second investigation where this new spirit box gave us the name “David”. Close to the best evidence I’ve ever seen using this camera! At markers 25:14 to 25:18, we have a cold area moving in the shape of a person. I’ve left these stillshots to show the different movements. For proof of this moving cold spot, the blue dot marker shows a 56.9° temperature against the ambient 72.9°. This is a 16° difference. Also, take note that I am also in some of these stills which means if it was a living person, we would’ve been the same color even at the distance between me and the cold spot. None of the other colder areas in the frame are moving in this manner. This is exciting stuff!

Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “number one” (vague, but could be relatable to George Washington, our first president, who served as a pallbearer at Eliza’s funeral), “follow me”, “tell me if you’re in trouble”, “yes, you did”, “candle in the wind” (the Pinckney Mansion burned in the Great Fire of 1861), “ninety-six, fourteen” (Eliza and Charles were married for 14 years, ending with Charles’s death in 1758.).

Lodge Alley: Terms/phrases heard on spirit boxes: “not your daughter” (also heard in my spot check above), “nine six nine”, “Faith” (other than a team member’s name, there is no Faith listed on pages 12-13 of this archaeological document of the residents of Lodge Alley)

Big Red Barn: Spikes of 15-25mG (milligauss) discovered on the K-II EMF Meter. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “barn” (obvious reference), “Red Rock” (what color is the big red barn?), “blood”.

Pinckney Mansion Site: K-II EMF Meter gave us readings of 20-25mG consistently throughout the site. The EMF function of the Mel Meter showed spikes of 3.8mG, 5mG, 10.8mG, and 14mG. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “Thomas” (heard twice, this is one of Eliza’s sons, Thomas Pinckney), “Charles” (another one of Eliza’s sons, Charles Cotesworth), “five years”, “five”, “burning”, “hotter” (the Pinckney Mansion burned in the Great Fire of 1861), “triple eight”, “eleven” (the Great Fire of 1861 took place on December 11), “pink” (you have to say pink in order to say Pinckney).

Philadelphia Alley: A reading of 93mG was discovered on the EMF function of the Mel Meter, possibility of this high reading to originate from the building we were standing at to observe Philadelphia Alley.

St. Phillip’s Church and Cemetery: Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “Emanual”, “more than fifty”.

Powder Magazine: Spikes on the EMF function of the Mel Meter (anomalies based on previous investigations’ lack of EMF): 2.8mG, 3.2mG, 3.9mG, 6.3mG, 7.6mG, 9.3mG, and 13.2mG. These are very high spikes for this location that are not often seen. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “white” (heard twice), “see you later”, “black” or “jack” (either Blackbeard or Calico Jack), “Annie”, “traitor”, “rape”, “treatment”.

• 1:36:56 “on the move” I wasn’t able to tie this to Calhoun until I researched the previous phrase, but remember Calhoun’s sarcophagus was moved between the east and west sides of St. Phillip’s cemetery as they figured out his residency of Charleston. Also, “east” and “west” were heard in real time. Wow. This is a lot going on with Calhoun for my investigations. I don’t find it coincidental that all of these clues are directed at Calhoun.
• 1:44:16 “fifty-eight”

I found no anomalies in the thermal imaging video during my spot check. Also, note, the time spent in Lodge Alley is sideways.

*At marker 9:20-9:21, there are two small light anomalies in the lower left-hand side of the frame. These are about standard readings for this location, but you should also know that there are nights where we don’t discover any spikes at all. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “three four eight”, “thirteen”, “thirty-eight”, “blue” (obvious reference to Eliza’s indigo crops), “teenager”, “middle-aged” (this came up when asking about Charles Pinckney’s age at time of their marriage: answer is 45), “celebrating a milestone anniversary” (see this same phrase above in the SBox findings), “ninety-four thousand”, “thirty”.

Interesting if nothing else), “1765” (noteworthy that Dr. Joseph Brown Ladd was born in 1764, only one year off from what was heard on the spirit box, uncanny), “willow” (also seen on the digital spirit box), “May”.

Real Time Notes Based on Location

Pinckney Mansion Site: The EMF function of the Mel Meter gave signals of 4.2mG (milligauss), 6.2mG, 7.1mG, 10mG, and 14.4mG. These are significant and common spikes for an area that has never had an archaeological dig. There was also a slight/short “green” reading on the REM pod function of the Mel Meter. Terms heard on the SBox: “burning” (relative to the Great Fire of 1861, see “hot” above for link), and “twenty” (granted, I didn’t hear the “two” that would signify this was relatable to Eliza, age 22 at marriage, but I would like to point out that Big John Cannady’s first jersey number was 20.)

Lodge Alley: The number “forty-two” was heard in real-time and verified through the review, “kill” was also heard as we exited the alley. A slight EMF spike of 3.0mG was also discovered, significant due to the lack of spikes found here.

What happened to the Pinckney Mansion? It burned in the Great Fire of 1861 on December 11, 1861.

Eliza’s children? Total of four: Charles, Thomas, George, Harriott.

Eliza’s death? In 1793, Eliza Lucas Pinckney died of what we know as breast cancer based on her medical records at the age of 70. She was going to Philadelphia for treatments and that’s also where she died and where she’s buried. It was George Washington who served as a pallbearer at her funeral.

Age at time of marriage? Eliza Lucas was 22 when she married Charles Pinckney, 45.

Powder Magazine: A spike of 2.1mG discovered on the EMF function of the Mel Meter; noteworthy due to the lack of EMF that is usually found here. The terms “branch” and “rack” heard on spirit boxes. “Rack” could be referring to John “Calico Jack” Rackham. I remember specifically one night, before I started discussing Jack, that a guest heard “rack of ham” (rack ham) on a spirit box.

Pinckney Mansion Site: Spikes from the EMF function of the Mel Meter: 5.9mG (milligauss), 7.1mG, and 14mG. Terms heard on the spirit boxes in real time: “fire” (The Pinckney Mansion did burn in the Great Fire of 1861), “wet”, “fifty”, “four” (this was a direct response to asking how many children Eliza and Charles had. This answer is correct: Charles Cotesworth, Thomas, George, and Harriott), “white”, “yellow” (although it can’t be proven, the question about the color of the Pinckney Mansion is often asked and yellow is always the answer heard), “poison”, “war” (I was looking for another clue that might tie “war” to Thomas Pinckney, a Revolutionary War vet).

To Lodge Alley: The names heard on spirit boxes: “Lilly”, “Edward”, “Louis”, and “Steve”. None of which can be found on pages 12-13 of this archaeological document that displays all residents of Lodge Alley.

Philadelphia Alley: No spikes on the EMF function of the Mel Meter were noted. Terms heard on the spirit boxes: “July 24^th” (I found nothing related to this date other than a vague relation to Henry Laurens Pinckney who is buried two blocks away from our location at the Circular Church Graveyard), “dead man” (obvious relation to the duels that occurred here), “Charles” (this name is often heard in this general area considering Charles Pinckney is buried at St. Phillip’s), “battery” (I took this as a meaning to the Battery of Charleston), “twenty-five”, “thirty-seven”.

St. Phillip’s Church and Cemetery: Terms heard on spirit boxes: “forty-five”, “yellow”, “the first child” (possible relation to Sue Howard Hardy’s story on how she lost her baby).

Powder Magazine: Names heard on the spirit boxes: “William” and “Miriam”. The names of Anne Bonny’s parents were William Cormac and Mary Brennan.

Here are the terms/phrases I found during my spot check.

• 1:07 “sun and the moon” (song lyric)
• 7:06 “incredible”
• 13:18 “open your heart” (song lyric) What color is the Big Red Barn?
• 19:44 “lost their last”
• 25:48 “nineteen dollars”
• 31:19 “the return”
• 31:24 “twenty-two” This number works two-fold when dealing with Eliza Lucas Pinckney. She was born in 1722, and she was 22 years old when she married Charles Pinckney, 45.
• 38:39 “child to be successful” Educational pieces often show up at the Pinckney Mansion site due to Eliza’s involvement and practice of the John Locke theory of tabula rasa. This theory is basically stating that children are influenced by experiences in their life other than just a formal education.
• 45:15 “Bible”
• 51:18 “two eight, fifty-nine” The only close relation I could find relative to these numbers was a complaint written by Charles Cotesworth Pinckney (Eliza’s son) on February 8, 1780 during the siege of Charlestown, because he was short men and ammunition to protect Fort Moultrie.
•  51:29 “four points” Eliza and Charles had four children.
• 57:55 “running”
• 1:02:50 “kept us apart”
• 1:10:24 “five different”
• 1:16:55 “three hundred years” We would’ve been discussing Philadelphia Alley at this time, but close to the Powder Magazine where Anne Bonny, who lived in Charleston more than 300 years ago, is often seen/heard.
• 1:25:31 “children” Near/at St. Phillip’s Cemetery where we discussed the Sue Howard Hardy’s stillborn child.

Pinckney Mansion Site: Spikes of EMF on the EMF function of the Mel Meter: 3.4mG (milligauss), 4.1mG, 11.2mG, and 25.4mG. See Mikayla’s list for terms heard in real time. During the 25.4mG reading, Mikayla heard “right next to you” simultaneously.

**I stopped taking notes after I realized that Mikayla was typing up all the terms/phrases she was hearing in real time. This is an anomaly on its own. Normally, my guests have a hard time learning how to listen to the SBox in real time. No other spikes of EMF  were found during our mini-investigations of other locations.
