Washington Square: Terms heard on the spirit box: “she stops with the last”, “all by myself”, “key to front door”, “five nine” & “rose” (The address where Dr. Joseph Brown Ladd from the dueling story, was 59 Church Steet. It is now known as the Thomas Rose House and is 0.3 miles away from our location).

A successful ESTES method session with the user hearing “bells” when we asked Timrod to tell us what we were hearing (church bells from St. Michael’s were ringing), “body” (said several times in different phrasing when asking about Timrod’s disease/death), “longer life” (Timrod’s last line written “beholder of brief mortality”)

The Onvoy reacted strangely with this investigation giving initials of terms relevant to our spaces. “W” appeared when I mentioned The Whistling Doctor, and “A” appeared when I introduced Amanda into the history.

Powder Magazine: Terms heard on spirit boxes: “girls just wanna have fun” (commonly heard here, silly Anne Bonny!), “Black Betty” (along with “BRD” from the Onvoy, possible reference to Blackbeard who also has a short history with Charleston), “call me out”, “love”, “Josiah”.

Terms heard on spirit boxes: “Irish”, ‘four” (direct answer to asking Eliza how many children she had: Charles Cotesworth, Thomas, George and Harriot), “Thomas” (Thomas Pinckney), “forty-seven” (without a solid secondary clue, this could be related to one of two instances: first is George Lucas, son of Eliza, born/died in June of 1747. Second, Big John played for the 1947 New York Giants).

Philadelphia Alley: The Onvoy spelled out the word “DUMP”.

Terms heard on spirit boxes: “November” (Dr. Ladd died on November 2, 1786), “one zero two five” (here we have another part of the date of Ladd’s death), “that bastard” (just a relevant phrase between dueling opponents)

Powder Magazine: The Onvoy spelled out the word “YOU”

Terms heard on spirit boxes: “Anne” (Anne Bonny), “six nine two five”, “Oliver”, “Jack” (John “Calico Jack” Rackham), “grace”, (whistiling)—this is a common noise heard from songs with “whistling” relevant to the Whistling Doctor), “brown -eyed girl” (see SBox notes above).

Circular Church and Graveyard: High EMF spikes detected as ghost hunter had dizziness and cold sweats simultaneously. EMF readings: 20.5mG, 23mG, 27mG, 28mG, 40mG and 100.5mG. Never have any previous investigations brought any EMF readings to light near this location. The electrical wiring around this area should only produce extreme spikes of 15-20mG at best.

Washington Square: A 21.6mG EMF spike was discovered on the Mel Meter.

The term “blood” was heard on a spirit box in relevance to Henry Timrod’s “Blood Book”.

Note: This audio is spliced together from four different recordings. The second splice (which would start around the 1:15:00 marker) was corrupted and could not be added. Instead, I’ve added the third and fourth splices to the end of the first splice. It is indeterminable as to how much audio was lost and the exact locations. The links below are to be speculated relevance after marker 1:15:00.

• 0:16 “forty years” This number is what I use to explain on a nightly basis about using two “clues” to identify paranormal activity. Not coincidence that it has been showing up for the past few investigations while near Big John’s Tavern. Art Faircloth was #40 on Big John’s Team.
• 10:09 “California” (song lyric)
• 10:54 “when we die”
• 15:13 “delay or something”
• 20:49 “follow”
• 25:33 “coach”
• 25:47 “coach” Two separate stations said this word in very close proximity in timestamps. Noteworthy that the name “Steven” was found on the digital spirit box word list below, two separate times, very close in proximity as well. Big John Cannady’s coach for the 1947 New York Giants was Steve Owens. With “doubles” of terms, these are things I look for to stand out. With this kind of uncoincidental occurrence, I can honestly say this is the first time that I see that we may have had someone following us, at least until we reached the area of Philadelphia Alley and the Powder Magazine. There are no ties to Charleston from Coach Owens, but we’ve had clues to him in past investigations including his full name.
• 31:19 “twenty” This is Big John’s first jersey number, also showed up on the digital word list below.

• 45:37 to 45:44 Possible disembodied voice. “Patience” plus two more words. See the screenshot below of the audio waves, you can definitely see where this stood out and is not radio chatter. I’ve also separated the audio so you had just as an EVP by itself. See below for extra audio and screenshot.
• 46:20 “Saint John” More clues to Big John Cannady.
• 51:09 “eyes closed” See “burns my eyes” above.
• 1:00:57 “college students” T was asking Eliza about her children’s education during this time.

Pinckney Mansion Site: EMF Readings: 10.8mG, 24.1mG, 28.1mG, 36.1mG.

Terms heard on the spirit box: “the world”, “fire” (The Pinckney Mansion was destroyed by the Great Fire of 1861)

Powder Magazine: EMF Readings: 10mG, 16mG, 31.9mG. These readings are unusually high for this location. Spikes of 8-12mG are what has been discovered here in the past far enough away from the electrical poles to determine validity.

Terms heard on the spirit box: “red” (the color of Anne Bonny’s hair), “Oregon”, “fifty”

The name “Isaac” appeared on ghost hunter’s Paratek device relatable to Ralph Isaacs, the dueling opponent of Dr. Joseph Brown Ladd from the Philadelphia Alley history.

Quaker Interred Cemetery: A slightly successful experiment of a blindfolded dowsing rod session.

Washington Square: Two very successful “double-blind” ESTES methods performed. Key terms that stood out in real time: “tuberculosis” (Henry Timrod died of tuberculosis creating the “Blood Book”), a double response of “do you hear me” & “did you hear that’ when I asked Henry to tell us what he’s heard (bicycle bells were ringing at this time), “five” was repeated several times about a minute to two minutes after I asked how many spirits were there with us.

This house is only .3 miles from our location), “Katie” (this is the name of Henry Timrod’s wife), “thank you”, (when we stopped asking about Henry’s infant son) and multiple names relatable to ghost hunters on the team.

Noteworthy events: On March 3’s investigation, the names “Jessie” and “Jessica were heard/seen on communication devices without any connections to sites. On March 4’s investigation, the city of “Philadelphia” was heard on a spirit box. There was a Jessica on this investigation from the Philadelphia area.

Also note, that Jessica did not feel well (lack of catching her breath) as we entered the Powder Magazine area.

I discovered that the two names are often found in articles and books along with John Calhoun, but could not discover a tie between the two names and Calhoun himself.
