Halloween, 7PM Becky Kimberly Kristen

Click here for photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Becky Kimberly and Kristen,

Thanks for your patience on getting your data/evidence back. I did an investigation on Fort Sumter yesterday (podcast episode coming soon) and then had tours in the evening. And thank you for choosing ghost hunting to celebrate Halloween this year!

In your regular audio above, listen for my audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” to verify what I heard in real time from the reverse spirit box and/or things heard from the SB7 non-recordable spirit box.

The pictures above were taken at the Pinckney Mansion site. The red square grid has a circular motion in it, and with the center dot not blurred, I can concur that this is indeed a strange anomaly. Nice job! This is going in the Evidence Folder on the SITC Facebook page.

As for your SBox audio above, here are a few things I heard with timestamps. This is not an all inclusive list and I encourage all of you to go through this audio in completion to hear full messages.

  • 10:50 “friends…admission”
  • 11:00 (undistinguishable voice)
  • 11:24 “where are you”
  • 25:47 “intelligent”
  • 26:45 “technology combined”
  • 33:20 “I told you last night” (I do tend to repeat questions night after night)
  • 49:17 “and there you go” leaving the PInckney Mansion site.
  • 1:03:34 “I’m pregnant”
  • 1:23:08 “it’s all about”
  • 1:27:50 “weapons” near Philadelphia Alley.

I highlighted the relevant terms below and added links for you to explore/verify.

At the top of the page, you’ll find a link that tells you about the equipment/apps used during your ghost hunt, the SITC podcast and where to send evidence you find in your data. Thanks again everyone for celebrating Halloween with me.

October 30, 9PM Emily Jennifer Lisa

Click here for photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Emily, Jennifer and Lisa,

In your regular audio above, you’ll hear my audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” followed by what I thought I heard in real time.

IN your SBox audio, here are a few things I caught, with a focus on the PInckney Mansion site and the Wagener Building.

  • 15:24 “he’s a nice guy”
  • 15:41 “did you know”
  • 38:47 “relevant”
  • 46:16 “post an article” (little early for Ralph Isaacs at Philadelphia Alley, but could be related)
  • 1:37:09 “this area”
  • 1:38:21 “low price”

It’s not uncommon for terms/phrases around currency to come up around the Wagener Building. The term “financial” was heard on teh non-recordable SB7 spirit box and then “low price” on the SBox.

There were a few relevant terms in the digital spirit box word list below. I’m going to urge you all to check out the 7PM tour evidence: “Eliza Pinckney” was heard on the SBox along with Emily’s name, “Emilia” in teh word list. Cool stuff when the two ghost hunts from one night cross over into each other.

At the top, you’ll find my contact info, the SITC podcast along with the tools/apps we used on your ghost hunt. You guys were a great group and I appreciate all the good company you provided to me during your ghost hunt. Hopefully, I raised the bar for future ghost “tours” you’ll take.

October 30, 7PM Debra Glenn Pamela

Click here for photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Notice the little broken lines at the top of the green grid.

Parties of Debra, Glenn and Pamela,

Take note of the picture I left above the video: the broken green lines indicate something was passing through, nice catch. I left the enhanced pictures in your Facebook folder, check the link.

In your regular audio, you’ll hear audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” after I repeat what I heard in real time.

Here are just a few things I heard in the SBox audio. It’s not all inclusive and I alway encourage you to listen to the entire thing, taking notes on what you hear, then look at the list as a collective.

  • 00:12 “spirits of passing”
  • 17:28 “and faith”
  • 18:02 “Christ”
  • 24:55 “26”
  • 32:48 “say yes”
  • 39:38 “dungeon”
  • 40:03 “from God”
  • 40:04 “Eliza Pinckney”
  • 44:36 “woke him up”

I don’t find it ironic that another local podcaster featured Stories in the Cemetery on his podcast called Pleasing Terrors about the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon, this episode launched yesterday about the time the word “dungeon” was said.

As for an overall collective, I see a theme of religion in the terms heard in real time, the SBox recording and the word list combined.

I’m also very excited bout the “Eliza Pinckney” heard on the SBox. This was really clear. The picture taken there of the green grid is also proving we definitely had some spirit activity while visitng the Pinckney Mansion.

At the top of the page you’ll find my contact info, where to leave reviews and the tools/apps we used last night. Can’t thank you all enough for the very generous tips; they are never expected, but always appreciated. Thank you. You guys did a great job and I appreciate all the extra connections and stories that were provided.

October 29, 7PM Jason Liz

Parties of Jason and Liz,

In your regular audio above, you’ll hear audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” after what I repeat what I thought I heard in real time.

In your SBox audio, here are just a few markers I heard while reviewing. This is not all markers, and I encourage you to go through this with a pen and paper, write down all that you hear and look at the list as a collective.

  • 00:14 “make your voice heard”
  • 33:25 “to the house”
  • 35:08 “the only way to go”
  • 47:08 “every night”
  • 55:00 “obvious”
  • 1:08:40 “in person”
  • 1:18:44 “you believe that”
  • 1:28:24 “sentimental”
  • 1:30:45 “not that bad of a guy”

I did not see any odd anomalies out of the thermal imaging video when reviewing.

The digital spirit box word list below has plenty of highlighted terms and links for you guys to dive into. I would normally focus the SBox audio review on highlights from this list and the EMF readings, but last night, seems that every location had something, hence why my SBox markers are throughout the recording.

At the top of this page, you’ll find my contact info in the event you find more evidence you’d like to share, the SITC podcast and links/names of the apps/tools we used last night. Feel free to reach out to me anytime. I check that email address about 3 times a week.

You guys did a great job with the equipment which made my job easier this morning. So, thank you for that! I look forward to hearing more about what you find in the data.

October 27, 9PM Rhonda

Rhonda and Kevin,

In your regular audio above you’ll hear audio markers where I repeat what I heard on the reverse spirit box and then give a “rewind by 5 seconds” direction.

In the SBox spirit box recording, here’s a few things that I found. It’s not all inclusive and I focused on the Pinckney Mansion site time stamps.

  • 22:12 “great day”
  • 25:38 “what we’re doing…maybe it’s not”
  • 26:18 “monetary donation”
  • 26:37 “someone stole”
  • 28:11 “behaviors” disembodied voice.
  • 28:32 “equipment”
  • 28:47 “4-5” I want to note there that Charles was 45 when he married Eliza at 22.
  • 30:56 “their voice”
  • 35:06 “I’m listening”

In the digital spirit box word list, I didn’t find quantity, but did find quality! The term “Treaty” is very significant, just look at the notes and link I left.

This particular term goes right in line with the other intelligent activity that I’ve uncovered at this location. So, thank you!

AT the top of this page, you’ll find my contact info to send me other evidence you find in this data, the SITC podcast and a list of the tools/apps we used (along with my other gadgetry). Had a blast hanging out with you guys, thanks for exploring Charleston in a different perspective.

October 25, 9PM Deborah Hannah Lora

Click here to view photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Deborah, Hannah and Lora,

Unfortunately, there is no audio.

Your SBox Audio above, I found the following markers. This is not an all inclusive list. Feel free to go through the entire recording and send me the findings via the email address at the top of the page.

  • 24:36 “giants” Big John Cannady played for the 1947 New York Giants.
  • 24:39 “delivery” The horses in the red barn used to deliver milk to the city of Charleston.
  • 29:29 “trying to disappear”
  • 44:28 “house of…”
  • 46:05 “I was told”
  • 46:06 “65”
  • 50:40 “another historic”

The two pictures above will be going to the Evidence folder on the SITC Facebook page. Nice catches everyone!

I left the digital spirit box running as I had conversations with part of the team after the tour, I do this purposely since I will be passing most of the locations we visited on the way back to my car. There are PLENTY of notes and links below to follow up. This is actually quite a bit of activity from this investigation. You can scroll through other ghost hunts before yours to see how much or how little came out of the other groups.

Nice job everyone, I consider this one of the most successful ghost hunts yet, aside from missing the regular audio. And a big thanks to Jeff for his further explanations of how thermal imaging works in his commentary on the video. Much appreciated.

At the top of the page, you’ll find where to send any extra evidence you’ll find, the SITC podcast, and the tools/apps we used last night. One of you asked if I accept tips through venmo, which I used to leave at the top of this page. I don’t normally expect tips, but if you need my venmo code, just reply in the text I sent you.

Reviews are my best friend, I’ll ask that you all leave a review on either Groupon or Trip Advisor if you can. It helps to keep me ghost hunting with new folks in the future. If you’re ever in town again, don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly for tickets, I’ll take care of repeat ghost hunters. Thanks again, team, great work here.

Almost forgot: The blue streak in the Wagener Building picture is a reflection from the clouds in the distance. Debunked.

For your regular audio above, you’ll hear audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” after I repeat what I heard in real-time. I did dive into Thomas Pinckney’s wounded leg from the Battle of Camden and came up empty-handed of him getting shot in the knee. But I did find a record of these letters where another Thomas Pinckney, grandson of Eliza Pinckney through Charles Cotesworth, had a wounded knee. Page 5, Pinckney Letters.

Here are a few markers for your SBox Audio. It’s not an all inclusive list, but will give you a good idea on how to listen to this recording. I encourage you to listen to the entire recording, writing down everything you hear, then looking for a deeper message.

  • 10:36 “that’s the rest of my life”
  • 10:42 “interesting event”
  • 16:46 “the old private wall”
  • 17:06 “exposure to it”
  • 26:25 “19th American”
  • 34:49 “ask yourself if you could”

I left some notes below in the digital spirit box word list, but did not find any odd occurrences in the thermal imaging video or in the pictures taken.

At the top of this page, you’ll find links to the tools/apps we used on your ghost hunt, where to send any additional findings and the SITC podcast. I’d also appreciate your reviews on Groupon and/or Trip Advisor. You guys were a great group, so thanks for continuing to make my career fun and interesting.

October 23, 7PM Becky Thomas Whitney

Click here to view photos taken during your ghost hunt

Parties of Becky, Thomas and Whitney,

This investigation actually taught me a few things.

IN your audio above, you’ll hear audio markers where I’ll say “rewind by 5 seconds” based on what I heard in real time from the reverse spirit box.

Before you go further, check out the word list below, especially the terms “Proposal” and “July”. I want to point out that yesterday was Thomas Pinckney’s birthday and he was married in July of 1779. He was also a soldier at the Battle of Camden. The irony here is that we had a Thomas and a Camden in your group yesterday and it just so happened to be Thomas’s birthday. I do not find this coincidental.

As for your SBox spirit box audio above, here are just a few markers I found, but I still feel like some of these phrases could be focused on Thomas Pinckney’s life and marriage. This is not an all inclusive list and I encourage you to listen to the entire recording. I stayed focused on the Pinckney Mansion stimestamp.

  • 29:17 “Troubling with pain” Pinckney had his leg shot at the Battle of Camden.
  • 30:37 “41”
  • 30:40 “reason to find work”
  • 31:24 “I wanted to wait”
  • 47:17 “for free”
  • 54:19 “Raymond”

I left a few notes/links below to check out. At the top of this page, you’ll find the SITC podcast, where to send extra evidence from your data and where to find my published works.

I’m adding this investigation to my dates to remember based on the activity around Thomas. Thanks team, you all did a great job!

October 22, 9PM Jana

Jana and family,

You guys were a blast last night, thank you for coming ghost hunting with me.

I’m always excited to talk about Byron Preiss’s “The Secret”. You can find podcast episode on this subject, episode 16 and the blog post here.

There’ll be audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” in the regular audio above.

Your SBox audio, I found the following markers. Keep in mind this is not an all inclusive list and it’s up to you to find the rest.

  • 58:46 “do it without”
  • 1:10:17 “already transformed”
  • 1:10:35 “I said”
  • 1:10:50 “right here”

October 22, 7PM Alan Jennifer Kim Shana

Click here to view your photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Alan, Jennifer, Kim and Shana,

Your regular audio above will have markers where I’ll say “rewind by 5 seconds”.

After the tour, one of you told me that you used to call your grandfather “Papa” which was heard on the SB7 non-recordable spirit box and that he was in the Navy. I highlighted “Pappy” below along with “Naval” since Papa and Pappy came up relatively at the same time.

SBox spirit box markers:

  • 8:32 “verse 2”
  • 13:40 “my friends” (song lyric)
  • 1:18:00 “drive the research”
  • 1:23:54 “clear”
  • 1:24:24 “out of money” *Remember that George Poirier was in debt at the Wagener Building.

This is not an all inclusive list and I encourage all of you to go through it entirely. These are great examples of what I look for when I going through my own investigations.

I had a blast hearing all of your stories and unexplainable events. I left some notes/links below in the digital spirit box word list.

AT the top of this page, you can find the SITC podcast, where to send extra evidence, where to find my fiction work and the page link for all the tools/devices used during your ghost hunt.

October 20, 7PM Terry Todd

Parties of Terry and Todd,

In the regular audio above, you’ll have audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” when I hear something on the reverse spirit box.

From the SBox audio above, here are just a few markers I found. It’s not an all inclusive list.

  • 14:53 “friends from work”
  • 22:10 “I found life”
  • 27:15 “work for nothing”
  • 38:10 “vacation”
  • 1:21:02 “I am George” *relatively close to the Wagener Building where George Poirier hung himself.
  • 1:28:03 “join us for…”
  • 1:32:36 “82”

I didn’t find anything at a quick scan through the thermal imaging video.

As for the words below from the digital spirit box, there’s definitely a theme wrapped around Bob, “Robert”, “Law”, “Justice”, “Police”, “Enforcement” are all terms around a police officer. Happy retirement Bob! (which by the way, if you’re a “fifth brother”, as mentioned below, I’d like to know)

Perhaps when Bill takes a look through his photos, he’ll find some orbs, and that green orb in Philadelphia Alley, I’d like to have my wife take a further look into.

At the top of this page, you can find my contact info to send me more evidence in your data, where to find my books and the SITC podcast.

And yes, Todd, you did pay to carry around a cell phone in dirty parking lots. We heard your whole conversation on the thermal imaging video, LOL. Hopefully, you’ll find more evidence here and you’ll be part of my converting skeptics percentage. Thanks again everyone!

Andrea and party,

What an interesting night. Please check out the 7PM tour before yours. At times, I see patterns between both tours and this was the case with last night’s groups.

Speaking of spirit boxes, on your SBox audio above, I found the following relevant markers:

The above list is not all inclusive. Please listen to the entire recording and see what else you hear. Can’t thank you guys enough for an interesting night. Clues between two tours doesn’t always correlate this way, but when it does, it’s always an interesting find.

At the top of the page, you’ll find my contact info, the SITC podcast, where to leave reviews and find my fiction work. So glad you guys had fun, and I look forward to hearing back from you with more findings.

October 18, 7PM Jason Kim Laura Theresa

Click here to view your photos taken during the ghost hunt.

Parties of Jason, Kim, Laura and Theresa (aka, Chatty Kathy’s, the Latecomers, The Wanderers and the Puppet Show),

In your regular audio above, you’ll hear audio markers where I say what I think I heard out of the reverse spirit box and then say “rewind by 5 seconds”.

Your SBox audio is in relation to the next tour at 9PM, so scroll up and read their data as well. Here are some audio markers I found:

  • 18:06 “Saturday new…because he’s still here”
  • 28:17 “Come back”
  • 32:21 “I just don’t remember”
  • 46:03 “looking for something else”
  • 47:15 “we have a problem”
  • 47:37 “45-9” Charles was 45 when he married Eliza at 22.
  • 48:21 “star”
  • 49:24 “get together”
  • 50:21 “gatherings”

Notice we had some repeat messages that Kim said she heard on the non-recordable after these timestamps. “come back”, “star”.

Also, if you remember Kim’s tale when she joined back up with us, they said to have found two pennies. I found this article on finding two pennies in particular: Symbolism of found coins. I thought you all might be interested, especially Kim and David.

The SBox markers above is not an all inclusive list. I urge you to listen to all of the recording, write down everything you hear and see if there is a bigger message. Above you’ll find my contact info, the SITC podcast and where to find my fiction works. I had a blast showing you guys around town.

Below, you’ll find “Elite” and “Charles” bolded. I believe this is a direct correlation with the 9PM ghost hunt after yours.

October 17, 9PM Christopher Lolita Patty Tara

Click here to view photos from your ghost hunt.

Parties of Christopher, Lolita, Patty and Tara,

IN your regular audio, listen for my audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” for words/phrases I heard in the reverse spirit box. Also, at 1:21:30, you’ll hear a member of the group tell me how he got touched just before walking into Dueller’s Alley.

Here’s a few things I found in the SBox audio above:

  • 38:53 “not all…expensive” two voices here
  • 1:13:59 “hit you with another”
  • 1:14:49 “dead”
  • 1:18:40 “Wall Street”

I stayed focused on Philadelphia Alley looking for the “Isaac” that was heard. this is not an all inclusive list, so feel free to go through it more thoroughly and then send me the extra evidence to the email address above.

As for your digital spirit box word list, I left some notes/links to check out.

Great job keeping those eyes and ears peeled for any spirit activity. I don’t normally get someone being touched on my tours, but this is the second time in less than a week. Again, I look for patterns in the events and data since I visit the same haunted locations night after night.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with extra findings. At the top of this page, you’ll find the SITC podcast, links and names of the tools/apps we used last night and where to find my books. Thanks everyone for giving me a good time, I hope this was a highlight of your vacation.

As for the ghosts caught at the Pinckney Mansion site last week, here’s the video: Facebook Evidence Folder.

October 17, 7PM Allie Jennifer

Click here to view photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Allie and Jennifer,

In your first audio, you’ll find audio markers where I’ll say “rewind by 5 seconds”

In the SBox recording, here are just a few audio markers I found.

  • 12:54 “feel like I’m”
  • 18:15 “made a difference”
  • 32:34 “huge”
  • 33:04 “5-8” Eliza’s husband, Charles, died in 1758 at the age of 58.
  • 43:26 “for less than half”
  • 56:41 “there is me”

I will encourage all of you to go through and make a full list of what you hear in the SBox audio and see if there are more clues as to the locations we visited.

Below you’ll find bold words with notes and links that I feel are relevant to your ghost hunt. Seems the spirits wanted to show off the ponies last night.

The name “Lucas” only ever shows itself in the Pinckney Mansion site, so it was exciting to see that come through again. The numbers 5-8 above is also very exciting considering things usually come in two’s with Charles. Often, his birth month/death month of October shows up twice as well.

Great work everyone. At the top of this page you’ll find my contact info, where to get my books and the SITC podcast. Had a good time entertaining you on your vacation!

October 16, 9PM Cody Katherine Wendell

Click here to view photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Cody, Katherine, and Wendell,

During your tour, you may have found me a bit disappointed at the Pinckney Mansion site due to the lack of activity. Then I remembered later on during our ghost hunt, that Eliza’s dead infant son was brought up. In previous tour groups, I warn not to bring this up due to all activity stopping. I believe this was the case with your experience. See the 9PM data above for those details. I would apologize, but I cannot control the paranormal activity that will or will not happen on each tour.

As for your audio above, there will be markers where I’ll say “rewind by 5 seconds”. I want to point out that on the SB7 spirit box, the word “Muffin” was heard,a nd I heard the word “English” on my reverse spirit box. Put them together and we have a delicious breakfast.

In the second audio above, here are a few markers I found. This list is not all inclusive, but will give you examples of what to listen for when you go through in completion.

  • 22:01 “which is why you should”
  • 22:16 “98”
  • 27:32 “they were standing”
  • 38:29 “chemical”
  • 43:42 “should be something about”
  • 43:49 “furniture” **I want to point out in the previous 7PM tour, the word chair came up in the same location on both the SBox spirit box and the digital word list.
  • 50:09 “keep fighting”
  • 1:29:27 “whatever your passion”

I didn’t find anything out of the norm in the thermal imaging video other than a few light bursts in the red barn lot that seemed a bit extreme off in the distance. No odd temperature readings from those areas.

If anything, the previous tour proves that it influenced yours. The New Moon phase should’ve heightened all activity as this is usually a prime phase for the paranormal.

My hope is that you all learned a thing or two about ghost hunting and realize that the television shows are usually going after ratings. With finding real proof of the paranormal, the history is always interesting and the activity can be inconsistent.

Above, you’ll find the SITC podcast, where to send your extra evidence and the tools/apps used during your experience. It was my pleasture to show you all around the city, and I’m sure you’ll have a different perspective of Charleston while you’re on vacation.

I haven’t found a connection to any of the locations we visited, but this also came up back in September around the same timeframe on that ghost hunt. We can take that for what it’s worth.

October 16, 7PM Cheri Clint O’Neal Rebecca

Click here for photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Anomaly caught in the grid pen. Based on shapes and shadows, there is no possibility that this is the green light of the EMF meter.

Parties of Cheri, Clint, O’Neal and Rebecca,

In the first audio, you’ll listen for my audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds”

In the second audio, the recordable spirit box, here are a few markers I found. This is not an all inclusive list.

  • 00:16 “want you to focus”
  • 14:34 “almost at the halfway”
  • 15:25 “new life
  • 30:23 “my next step”
  • 36:59 “chair”
  • 38:01 (odd noise/voice)
  • 1:03:31 “if you die”
  • 1:03:39 “he lives”
  • 1:03:47 “that is a life…awesome”
  • 1:27:38 “the voice of madness”

The picture above with slider shows a green anomaly in the grid pen. I’ve lightened it thinking I would see a hand holding the EMF meter, but the dark area around it matches the other shadows of the red barn lot. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

As for your digital spirit box word list, I left plenty of notes. I will say this: If the lost infant of Eliza ever comes up, it usually stops all activity for that location. The next ghost hunt at 9PM, we had nothing come out of the Pinckney Mansion site, the light wasn’t even blinking.

At the very top of this page you’ll find the SITC podcast, where to send extra evidence and of course, a local bookstore that carries my fiction books.

October 15, 9PM Faith Rebeca

Click here for photos taken during your ghost hunt.

The “C” shape are from the light, but the one away from the “C” shape is a great possibility of an orb.

Parties of Faith and Rebeca,

What a great investigation, thank you!

Below you’ll find links/notes on the digital spirit box word list. If that’s not enough to keep you busy for awhile, be sure to listen to the regular audio for all my audio markers that say “rewind by 5 seconds). A notable piece ( and highlight) was me asking Charles Pinckney to tell us his birthday and the answer came through on the SB7 spirit box…several times. Charles Pinckney birthday/death = October.

I left a picture above with a note underneath it as well. It is up for questioning and I will send it over to my wife for analysis.

As for the SBox spirit box recording above, here are just a few of the terms that I found. This is not an all inclusive list and I urge all of you to go through it in completion, marking all words/phrases you hear, then look at your list as a collective.

  • 9:59 “Forgot about these”
  • 10:02 “Wallet”
  • 17:09 (odd noise)
  • 24:14 “Take Control”
  • 24:15 “Then he died”
  • 57:31 “with a question”

At the top of this page you’ll find the email address to send any additional findings, along with the SITC podcast, where to leave reviews and find my books. You guys did an excellent job, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with your findings or any other questions.

October 14, 9PM Rebekah Roger

Click here to view all photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Use the slider to compare the original image with the lightened image of Lodge Alley. Green Orb, lower right quadrant. This photo has been added to the Evidence Folder on Facebook since this isn’t the first time I’ve seen colored orbs in this alley.

Parties of Rebekah and Roger,

The picture above with the slider shows a lightened picture of the green orb that was caught. In the Evidence Folder on the SITC Facebook page, you can see that this is not abnormal for this location. Great catch.

I left the digital spirit box word list app running until I reached my vehicle and you’ll see in the notes below that it gave some pretty relevant terms even after the tour departed. There are links of course, for you all to verify the findings.

In real time, we heard the terms “Red”, “Blue” (several times), “First step” and “1993” on the SB7 non-recordable spirit box. We all figured out that “blue” is probably referring to the indigo blue dye and “red” is the answer to “what color is the barn?” I couldn’t find anything relating to Molly Darcy’s in 1993 since it started in 2000.

As for your SBox recording above, here a few clips that I heard. Feel free to find more and send them to me at the email address above.

  • 11:05 “describing”
  • 11:26 “when darkness”
  • 24:11 “move forward”
  • 25:38 “large debt”
  • 47:05 “little guy”
  • 47:50 “church”
  • 1:04:43 “glaze”
  • 1:37:37 “look up”
  • 1:37:37 “halfway”
  • 1:37: 39 (disembodied female voice)

“look up halfway” refers to the Wagener Building’s second floor.

Team, this was a great investigation, you all did a great job listening to your spirit boxes and watching for discolorations in the thermal imaging.

Good morning Kristina and family/friends!

Hope you all had a good time last night exploring the city of Charleston and learned a thing or two not only about history, but about the methods of ghost hunting.

The digital spirit box word list didn’t really give us much, but I left a few notes below.

The words “fire” and “suicide” were heard out of the non-recordable spirit box at the Pinckney Mansion site.

Here’s just a few of the terms I heard in the recordable SBox:

  • 00:17 “this is really weird”
  • 15:18 “68”
  • 16:05 “fire”
  • 18:02 “hand touches”
  • 18:47 (laughing)
  • 19:11 “some help”
  • 33:26 “economic”
  • 40:11 “3-0-3”
  • 41:13 “know what you’re doing”
  • 1:04:19 “with God”

I wanted to point out that I found a Room 303 at the Meeting Street Inn that is said to have hauntings. We were about 0.4 miles away from the Inn at the time this came up.

Of course, this isn’t all the messages in the recording, but should help you to listen for new voices when you are going through it. Feel free to send me the rest of what you find to the email address above. You’ll also find the Stories in the Cemetery podcast and info about the devices and apps used on your ghost hunt.

Parties of Amanda and Kimberly,

Unfortunately, your video and your pictures did not save. Both devices, the phone and camera had plenty of space available and I don’t find it “ironic” that the visual data is what’s missing with your data collection. It’s almost as if something/someone didn’t want to be seen.

I left some notes in your digital spirit box word list below. As for your spirit box audio, here are a few markers that I found, some we heard in real time:

  • 0:01 “Motive”
  • 6:51 “Asking your best friend”
  • 7:39 “Know the truth”
  • 8:09 “Challenged”
  • 13:57 “So you have to find it”
  • 14:01 “Everything”
  • 22:17 “Something”
  • 23:04 “You can learn”
  • 23:24 “You get your shot”
  • 33:28 “Thank you so much for listening.

This isn’t everything, and I’m sure you’ll be able to find more. Feel free to send me extra evidence in your data to the email address at the top of the page. You can also find the Stories in the Cemetery podcast and a list of all the devices/apps at the top.

I’d apologize for the missing data, but sometimes these things happen for a reason. You all did a great job being attentive and asking a lot of great questions. I’m just an email away if you have any further questions about ghost hunting or a paranormal experience.

October 13, 7PM Mashawn

Click here to view photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Mashawn and family,

Interestingly enough, the tour after yours, there were no visuals saved; no video, no pictures. So I dove into your pictures pretty heavily, but came up empty handed for evidence.

There are some notes and links below in the digital spirit box word list and I dove into the number 96 but found no relations to the Pinckney family. Here’s what I found in your spirit box audio:

  • 12:56 “see something”
  • 17:05 “I’m not finished”
  • 18:16 “How do I nag?”
  • 29:27 “Just a number”
  • 1:19:36 “I would…” this one trails off and I can’t make out the last word.

I also wanted to point out the words “Apologize” and “Father” and “parent”. Although, I cannot give you verifiable evidence, it’s a good possibility that Eliza would have apologized to her father for getting married so young and staying here in the United States.

Feel free to reach out to me with extra findings. You can find my contact info, podcast, and the tools/apps at the top of this page.

Parties of Crystal, Julie and Sherri,

Thanks for coming out ghost hunting!

There are plenty of notes/links in the digital spirit box word list below. When diving into your data, I focused on Lodge Alley where the name “Benjamin” and “Ben” were heard several times on the SB7 spirit box. If you recall Benjamin and John lived in Lodge Alley in 1801. Check out page 12 of this archaeological report

Also, the question “what is the woman drinking” was asked and the answer came through as “water”. Again, on the SB7, non-recordable spirit box.

As for the SBox recording above, here are just a few markers that I found. Please note, this is not an all inclusive list and I encourage you to listen to it’s entirety, take notes and look at the list as a whole.

  • 1:01:32 “Later”
  • 1:01:50 “Come to the South”
  • 1:05:44 “We’re gonna deal with”
  • 1:06:24 “It’s been 10 days”
  • 1:21:40 This is a disembodied voice that I can’t make out. Disembodied voices are voices not from the radio chatter.

Take note that at times during my tours, the word list below will give very specific details about what’s happening or something about to happen. For example, I’ve seen the word “dog”, then “happy”, and moments later someone comes by walking a very friendly dog.

At the top of this page you’ll find the Stories in the Cemetery podcast, my contact info for getting in touch with me about more evidence in your data and the address of a local bookstore to find my written works. Some of you asked about my books and you can check them out here and purchase them through amazon or through Main Street Reads in Summerville.

October 10, 7PM Courtney Dakotah Kim Meghan

Click here to view your photos taken during the ghost hunt.

Parties of Courtney Dakotah Kim and Meghan,

You have two videos above. The second is a short clip of when we were diving into the corner at the Pinckney Mansion site where Meghan and Keegan claimed to have seen shadow people. We caught proof.

Main video:

  • 49:07 Two regular living people moving to the right, just past the wall. (orange in color as they should be)
  • 49:32 Two dead unliving people moving left, just past the wall. (black in color)

ON the short clip, it is markers 00:05 and 00:33. This is undeniable proof that what Meghan saw was indeed two shadow people. When I asked about the hat on one of the shadows, she unmistakably described the picture found in the Evidence Folder on the SITC Facebook page caught on July 11 of this year.

There wasn’t much in the digital spirit box that I was using, but here are some markers for you all to check out in the SBox audio above:

  • 27:28 “First 8”
  • 35:37 “Home”
  • 37:30 “Hand-crafted”
  • 38:38 “Bring the Heat” The Pinckney Mansion site burned in the great fire of 1861.

I stayed focused on the Pinckney Mansion site while reviewing your evidence and I’m sure there is more there. I encourage all of you to go through the audio and video and feel free to email me your findings. At the top of this page, you’ll find the SITC podcast, my contact info and links to the devices and apps we used.

**”Sofa” is bolded below due to George Poirier piling up furniture to reach the rafters to commit suicide at the Wagener Building.

Team, the evidence caught is substantial and very relevant. This investigation will be going in my evidence folder. Fantastic job!

October 9, 9PM Amy Kendra

Click here for photos taken during your ghost hunt

Parties of Amy and Kendra,

I immediately dove into the number 88 which was heard on the spirit box several times. Frank Liebel was number 88 for the New York Giants in 1947. I found no other relatable terms to Frank.

There are plenty of notes below along with links to dive into. Here are some of the things I found in the SBox spirit box:

  • 00:01 “You know what I was doing”
  • 11:01 “Takes a few seconds”
  • 12:08 “Red” Direct answer to “what color is the barn”
  • 14:10 “Hello” (disembodied, not from the radio chatter)
  • 19:22 “Resources”
  • 20:24 “Ideal”
  • 24:14 “Failed”

This is not an all inclusive list, I encourage all of you to go through the spirit box audio, make a list of all that you hear and look at it as a collective to convey messages. Feel free to contact me with the email address above.

IN your pictures, you’ll see where I lightened up a few to clarify any shadow figures or apparitions, that’s why there are multiples of the same picture.

As for your thermal imaging video, you’ll see the Stories in the Cemetery logo in between each splicing of video. I do this so it is not mistaken for a paranormal glitching.

You guys did a great job asking questions and we caught some true paranormal activity. At times, the data talks about what is going on around us. Your investigation for example, I get the sense that Amanda’s name triggered more around the Dueler’s Alley story due to the doctor’s fiancee having the same name.

Parties of Jackie and Leigh,

Great job investigating last night! Love to see all ages coming to enjoy something new.

In your thermal imaging, I think we’ll all learn the great spots around town!

Here are a few markers I found in the SBox spirit box audio. Keep in mind, this is not an all inclusive list and I’m sure you’ll find more. These are merely examples as to how to listen to the spirit box for clues.

  • 14:20 “No strings”
  • 14:23 “Diamonds”
  • 40:55 “thousands of people”
  • 43:33 “Delightful”
  • 1:01:26 “John” I’m taking this as the direct relation to John that lived in Lodge Alley in 1801. See link for Lodge Alley residents below.

I left some notes and links below. Some of you were asking about the Pinckney Mansion site and what it looked like : Charles and Eliza’s home.

Be sure to check out the top of this webpage for the podcast, my contact info and info regarding the tools and apps we used during your ghost hunt. So glad everyone had a good time! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any of your findings or questions. I’m happy to help out.

October 8, 9PM Katy Sierra

Parties of Katy and Sierra,

What a great investigation! And Congratulations to Katy and Greg on their wedding!

I honestly haven’t had this much activity in one night in quite some time. Great job!

Here are just a few audio markers for the spirit box recording above. I stayed focused on the Pinckney Mansion site since we had such a direct answer with the digital spirit box:

  • 22:35 (disembodied) I can’t make this out.
  • 23:43 “45” Charles was 45 years old when he married Eliza, who was 22.
  • 34:52 “Heard me”
  • 35:19 “Fire” The Pinckney Mansion burned down in 1861.

At the bottom of your data, you’ll find a picture taken during your ghost hunt of the St. Philip’s eastern side graveyard. There, in the picture is a green orb. I took the liberty of blowing it up in size. Read about colored orbs here.

There is plenty here that I caught, but in the event you guys find more, feel free to send it over to me, my email address is at the top of this page. I also wanted to point out that I average about 50-60 terms in a 90-100 minute ghost hunt. Your list has over 100 terms.

In your regular audio, Joel and I heard the term “Handsome” and we’ll argue over who Eliza was complimenting until our dying days.

October 8, 7PM Crystal

Party of Crystal,

I’m very excited about the terms that showed up. These are undeniable answers and references to the locations we were in.

Here are just a few markers I found in your three spirit box audio clips.

  • Part 1
  • 2:54 “America’s helmet” We were still near Big John’s Tavern where John played football for the New York Giants.
  • 3:25 “All Around”
  • 35:45 “Careful”
  • 37:55 “No one”
  • Part 3
  • 18:44 “Zoe”
  • 18:59 “They think”

The list above is not an all inclusive list. I encourage you to listen through them, write down everything you hear and see if there is a deeper message.

I appreciate the open-minds that were brought to the ghost hunt. Looking at such simple terms as “COTTON” and “FRUIT” may not seem like much, but these are direct relations to your tour and what we were talking about at the time. This is truly great stuff.

I hope I opened your eyes a bit to downtown Charleston and enjoyed the ghost hunt. I left you some links below to dive into our history a bit further.

October 7, 9PM Elizabeth Gideon

Click here to view photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Elizabeth and Gideon,

You guys did awesome! Thanks so much for coming out ghost hunting with me.

Although I didn’t put any notes next to the terms “HISTORIAN”, “STUDY”, and “EDUCATE” below, I find a common theme in them. It’s not always relatable to a story I told, but a theme signifies someone/thing was trying to say something.

As for your spirit box audio, I focused on the center of the audio based on the timestamps of the themed words above. Here’s what I found:

  • 4:47 “Of course we tried”
  • 54:55 “Come together”
  • 59:50 (Odd sound)
  • 1:08:32 “Or fight” near Dueler’s Alley
  • 1:09:29 (another odd sound)
  • 1:18:29 “Hands” referring to the handprint in Philadelphia Alley.

This is not an all inclusive list and I’ll encourage you guys to go through this audio in more detail. Use the thermal imaging video and regular audio as a point of reference as to where we were.

I’m super excited about “Hands”. I don’t normally see anything that refers to this part of the ghost hunt, but there’s a first time for everything.

I also dove into the last few minutes of the thermal video further to see what might be going on with the window you caught. It does go from 72 degrees to 75 degrees and turns red/orange, which gives me the cause and effect of reverse thermodynamics. Temperature cannot be generated or destroyed, it balances.

Great work, team. See the top of the page for my contact info, the podcast and the tools/apps we used. I look forward to hearing back from you with more evidence.

Parties of Betsy, Mary Lou and Pat,

Thank for coming out ghost hunting with me! Hopefully, you learned a thing or two about ghost hunting and a lot more history of Charleston that you can’t find on other history or ghost tours around town.

After reviewing the data as a collective, I got pretty excited about Big John’s and the Wagener Building. So my focus for the spirit box recording was around these time frames. Here are a few messages I heard in that recording:

  • 00:03 “John” We were standing near Big John’s Tavern.
  • 5:03: “93”
  • 5:05 “Wasn’t feeling so hot” Big John’s Tavern caught fire in 2015. See article below.
  • 1:23:05 “American”
  • 1:23:55 “You there?” This is a disembodied voice meaning that it did not come from any radio chatter.

This is not an all inclusive list and I encourage you to listen to the recording in its entirety to find more. Once you have a list, look through it to see if anything makes sense as a collective based on the location we were investigating. Very similar method to what I did with your list below from the digital spirit box.

Also, when something personal comes up in the data, I am also excited. Thank you for not bringing an “agenda” to the ghost hunt, but when things pop up that could be a message, I feel like I’m helping those receive and interpret that message. Often, I get texts/emails from previous tours telling me of something they found in the data that was personal to them.

Cannot thank you enough for being curious about ghost hunting and the history of Charleston. I’m sure that I shed a new light on how you all look at our beautiful city.

October 6, 9PM Kate Keith Gina Guido

Click here to view photos from your ghost hunt.

Parties of Kate, Keith, Gina and Guido:

This particular investigation was very interesting since there were different angles of data for me to dive into.

The word “Roof” was heard on the SB-7 spirit box (the non-recordable device) when the other spirit box team asked where the fire was. Also, below you’ll see “Jack” when “Zack” was heard on the SB-7.

Your pictures were interesting as well, and here are those that I will send off to my wife (the expert) to analyze further.

As for your SBox recording above, here are a few markers I found. This is not an all inclusive list! I encourage you to listen through and find more, look at your list collectively and see if there is a valid message.

  • 27:54 “Here when you were”
  • 28:50 “It is among”
  • 32:33 “You can spend time doing”
  • 33:24 “Difference”
  • 41:56 “Meant to last” (I took this as the Pinckney Mansion site was meant to last longer than it did)
  • 42:22 Slight disembodied voice. I can’t make it out.
  • 51:36 “For Eliza” WOW!! I listened to this one several times to make sure I heard this properly.

Gina also sent me this list this morning as we stood by the Pinckney Mansion site chatting. Look at the words/phrases that relate to a home. Also, “burning skin”. I don’t believe anyone was caught in the fire of the Pinckney Mansion home, but “burning” is definitely a relative term.

**I bolded the word “Point” below, but it wouldn’t allow me to add the note. This is where I pointed out the peak of the Wagener Building where the temperatures could differ by up to 30 degrees.

Parties of Amber, Kari and Vanessa,

Unfortunately, your video did not record. In fact, it stopped after 30 minutes in the ghost hunt before yours. I’m not sure what happened, and I check storage and functionality of all devices after every ghost hunt.

I left a few notes and links in the digital list below. Be sure to listen for the audio markers in the regular audio above: “rewind by 5 seconds”. As for your SBox spirit box audio, here are a few examples of clear messages I found. This is not an all inclusive list and I encourage you to find more. You can send me what you find to the email address listed at the top of the page.

  • 6:17 “Special guest”
  • 12:05 “Pablo”
  • 21:44 “Not the way”
  • 21:52 “18 seconds”
  • 46:07 “Now is the perfect”
  • 48:16 “End of the table to”

In your photos, I found one picture that was a bit odd. I’m going to run it by my wife, April, for further analysis. The picture just outside the candy shop (after the Pinckney Mansion site) there are blurs of purple in a pool of liquid. I expect the liquid to look black, but the purple has me baffled. Would love to hear your thoughts. In the event, it cannot be explained I will add to the Evidence folder on the SITC Facebook page. You’ll also see where I lightened up the Wagener Building so we can see better inside the windows.

October 4, 7PM Chvonne Lindsay

Click here to view photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Chvonne and Lindsay,

Plenty of notes/links to go through in the digital spirit box word list below. Your video, however, did not fair so well. We only recorded about 30 minutes and there was absolutely no video recorded for the following group. I’m not sure what happened and I check all settings on the devices daily to insure all will do their job properly.

Here are a few markers from the SBox spirit box. This is not an all inclusive list, but more of examples of what I listen for. I encourage all of you to go through this recording and write down all you hear, then use the regular audio as a point of reference to see if the message makes sense.

  • 00:01 “Frost
  • 00:16 “Next level”
  • 18:16 “Yesterday”
  • 23:00 “A lot of people think that”
  • 1:08:53 “On the way back…two questions”

I’m excited about “Yellow Hair” below as it relates directly to our group. I also researched “Hemataus” pretty heavily to make sure we had valid information. I know with the demonic connotation, we all wanted to make sure we were right about that one.

Thanks again for coming out and check out thetop of the page on how to contact me with further evidence, the podcast as well as the tools/apps we used last night.

We’ll go with the name meaning here. Not that it’s relevant, but when I see a term I don’t know the meaning of, I have to believe that I’m not alone and share what I learn.

Parties of Amy, Arianne, Lakandra, and Robert,

Team, I already saw the great reviews you left for this event. Thank you, it means the world to me. Groupon and Trip Advisor are my focuses for collecting reviews as I transition my business in January. It means a lot, truly.

I left some interesting notes in your word list below. I’m excited about “H” and “Levi”, and left a link about the history of the Levi Strauss Co.

As for your SBox recording above, I found the following markers. This is not an all inclusive list, so be sure to go through it and use the video or audio as a point of reference to the location. The SBox does not record outside noise like us talking.

  • 9:47 “Careful about that”
  • 16:57 “Haven”
  • 17:33 “This is black”
  • 41:08 “To help”
  • 52:16 “Side by side”

You guys asked me to look into Paul, Sam and Watkins. This was heard early in the tour near the red barn lot. There was a Paul Governali that played with Big John Cannady in 1947, but I couldn’t find any teammates named Sam, Samuel or with the last name Watkins through Cannady’s career ending in 1952.

I left notes for the “Tom” listed below as a reference to Eliza’s son. In previous investigations, I have reasons to believe that “Tom” could also be Tom Landry, the former Dallas Cowboy coach who also played with Big John. Take that for what it’s worth.

When you find more evidence in your data, use my contact info above to send it to me. I’m more than happy to review.

Click here to view the photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Lauren and Lisa,

I had to splice 5x videos together, so as you’re watching, you’ll see the SITC logo w/black background in between each segment.

I left notes/links in the digital spirit box word list below to verify. In your regular audio above, I left audio markers of “rewind by 5 seconds” after repeating the term/phrase that I heard from the reverse spirit box.

As for the SBox spirit box audio above, here are a few markers that I found based on some of the more active locations with EMF and other spirit boxes.

  • 11:34 “Something we need”
  • 11:36 “This information”
  • 25:33 “Punishing”
  • 26:12 “Why you’re late”
  • 1:17:12 “Say what he wants to”
  • 1:17:15 “I started searching…more than one day” (two voices)

This is not an all inclusive list, but just some examples. By all means, I encourage you to listen for more and use the regular audio as a point of reference as to our location. In the event, you find more evidence in any of your data, my contact info is at the top of this page.

Parties of Abi and Tina,

I had to splice some videos together, there were three from your ghost hunt. Remember, the batteries chose to get really low after Lodge Alley and we started back up in Philadelphia Alley.

You’ll have some audio markers in the regular audio above. I’ll repeat what I heard and then say “Rewind by 5 seconds”. As for your SBox Audio, please see the markers below for a few that I found in our hot spots.

  • 8:48 Disembodied voice, I can’t make it out.
  • 9:01 “Couple today”
  • 25:57 “Stories”
  • 27:13 “Kiss goodnight”
  • 54:31 “Just want you to know”
  • 55:03 “Everything”

This is not an all inclusive list and I encourage you to go through and find more. Look at the list as a collective and put the clues together based on where we were in your ghost hunt, you can use the video as a reference.

You’ll find some explanations in the words below from the digital spirit box. This particular ghost hunt seemed to be talking about our actions and location more than anything. At the top of this page you’ll find more info about the podcast and the devices/apps we used. I think just about everyone asked more questions about these topics. Along with every podcast episode, I also put up the show notes in blog format for bonus audio and video sections.

Seems that everyone had a great time on the ghost hunt, which is always my intention. Hopefully, you see our city in a much different perspective and now know that ghosts are all over the city and not just the touristy type areas. Enjoy the rest of your vacations, everyone, it was my pleasure to show a different viewpoint of Charleston.

October 2, 7PM Catherine Cinde

Click here to view photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Catherine and Cinde (not CiMde, lol)

I really dove into the time stamps wrapped around Mason’s name listed below. I was expecting more religious terms on the SBox spirit box recording. Here’s what I found:

  • 00:00 “I told Jesus”
  • 9:37 “Hold the phone”
  • 9:50 “Sound Familiar”
  • 9:52 “Compromised”
  • 10:30 “Investing”
  • 10:44 “Hill Structure”
  • 10:48 “Insurance”
  • 11:34 “Great time”
  • 11:55 “Evil mind”
  • 12:22 “Every…promise, promise”

Keep in mind, this is not an all-inclusive list. I also want you to take notice of how close the timestamps are to the list above. These are all pretty close together. When this happens, I look at this as one message. I’m not sure exactly what all that means, but I’ll be curious to hear how this relates to one of you. I can’t see spirits of the past using terms together like this to describe themselves or their situation. Also, take note of the first thing on the list; religious term right from the start. I can’t recall ever getting anything from the jump like that before.

I left you some notes below on the digital spirit box word list. I did not see anything out of the ordinary with your photos or hotspots in the thermal imaging video. In the event any of you find extra evidence within your data, just contact me, my info is at the top of this page.

I appreciate all the open-mindedness of your group. Seems that everyone was having a good time and looking at Charleston in a different perspective. Hell, even I learned a thing or two about Charleston from you guys, so thank you for that. Let me know if you have any questions.

October 1, 9PM Cassandra, Cindy, Diana

Click here to view your photos taken during your ghost hunt.

Parties of Cassandra, Cindy, and Diana,

Few notable instances: “Home” was heard on the non-recordable spirit box when asking Eliza where she was. The EMF meter would move to green when Cindy approached it, numerous times, numerous locations.

There wasn’t much activity with the digital spirit box word list below and there are a few audio markers in your regular audio above.

As for the SBox audio, I could not find “jealous” and “don’t make this personal” based on the time stamps given. However, I did find some examples of what I hear, notes beside those noteworthy to your ghost hunt:

  • 24:36 “Our voices”
  • 26:13 “You can follow”
  • 32:40 “Steps toward” referring to Cindy approaching EMF meter
  • 33:24 “If you’re working”
  • 34:41 “Ended up”
  • 1:24:02 “Even now” Shots to the doctor’s knees in Philadelphia Alley makes them “even now”
  • 1:29:00 “Couple thousand dollars” It’s not uncommon for monetary terms to show while diving into the Wagener Building where George Poirier got himself into debt.

If any of the below terms relate to you personally, or when you find extra evidence in this data, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can find my contact info above.
